The greatness of dawn charity: "Two angels descend and pray for blessings upon anyone who gives charity at dawn" (HR. Bukhari Muslim)
Charity has many benefits, especially when done at dawn (Subuh), as it opens the doors of sustenance and other goodness through the prayers we offer along with our prostration to Allah SWT.
From Abu Hurairah RA that the Prophet SAW said: "There is no day upon which a servant wakes except that two angels descend to him. One of them says: 'O Allah, give compensation to the one who spends (in charity),' and the other says: 'O Allah, give destruction to the one who withholds (his wealth).'" (HR Bukhari and Muslim)
The 5 Special Privileges of Dawn Charity:
1. Opens the Door to Good Sustenance
The privilege of giving charity at dawn, especially to orphans, is that it opens the door to good sustenance. As the Messenger of Allah SAW said: "Bring down your sustenance (from Allah) by giving charity to orphans and the poor." (HR Al Baihaqi)
2. A Shield Against 70 Doors of Evil
The Messenger of Allah SAW said: "Charity closes seventy doors of evil." (HR At-Thabrani). No one wishes for life's difficulties to befall them. Joy and sorrow, happiness and hardship, good and bad are Allah's decrees, yet humans must still strive to achieve happiness in this world and the hereafter. One way to face various forms of hardship is through charity.
3. Repel Calamities/Misfortunes
As affirmed in the saying of the Messenger of Allah SAW: "Hasten to give charity, for calamities and disasters cannot precede it." (HR Muslim). Dawn is the perfect time to give charity before we begin our day, hoping for ease in every activity we undertake.
4. Given Multiplied Sustenance in Return
As affirmed, Allah SWT will reward multiplied sustenance to anyone who sincerely gives charity, as promised in Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 261: "The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a seed of grain that sprouts seven ears; in every ear there are a hundred grains. Allah multiplies for whom He wills, and Allah is All-Encompassing, All-Knowing."
5. Obtain Help from Allah SWT
"Whoever removes a hardship from a believer in this world, Allah will remove a hardship from him in this world and the Hereafter. Whoever relieves a difficulty for a believer in this world, Allah will relieve his difficulty in this world and the Hereafter. And whoever conceals the fault of a Muslim, Allah will conceal his fault in the Hereafter. Allah will help His servant as long as the servant helps his brother." (HR Muslim and Ashhabus Sunan from Abu Hurairah).
